Resurfacing a mesh in Maya

In this video we will take a look at how we can take a model from ZBrush, export this out as an OBJ, bring that into Maya and resurface that mesh. (3D tracing) This will give us good edge flow an topological layout for our model. We can then use this video (Click Here To Watch) to learn how to capture all the detail and color from our original sculpt.

Peace - NickZ. :)

Thank you for such a great tutorial. I learned a lot of techniques from this.

One thing I do for transparency, is setting the time-slider to show frames 1 - 10, then setting a key on transparency full at frame 1 and off at frame 10. It's seconds to set up and convenient using Maya's own time-line slider.

Dave, If you have the veho video player I think you can see the entire video. If not then try this link and see if you can download the video: https://acrobat.com/#d=JNOE-tWu5TVDBoqaFBLV1A

Thanks so much for this. It's extremely helpful. I can't believe I've been using Maya for so long without knowing how to do this.

Great video. Where can I get the script bits you mention?

Thanks for this tutorial and I am very glad I stumbled onto your blog site. I have one question though...The 2 scripts you described to automate the process of setting up the models and the slider to control the transparency do not seem to be on the page. Could you post a link to them for me please?
