Alien Shark Craft Render

This is a craft that I created for the Alein Shark Illustration.

I spent a good bit of time creating this. The thought was to have quite a few of these flying around in the background. It seemed like a good idea but in the end it made the piece way too busy.

You can take a look at the final illustration if you Click Right Here.

I made a "making of" video for this craft but I was having some trouble uploading it to Veoh.com. I will see if I can get it uploaded and then I will add that video as a post.

Hope you enjoy,

NickZ. :)

My First Snare Drum

Here is a snare drum that I worked on for a buddy of mine, Eric Warman. Eric has a site at www.ghostnote.net that is geared for people whow like to build their own drum kits. Eric used to work at EA as an evironment artist. While he was here he had a few of the artist in the studio design a drum shell for a drum show. It was a pretty fun project and I learnd a lot. In the end I got to keep the final drum and the kids and I get to beat on it every now and then. "We're getting the band back together!"

Revelation 12:7 (Snare Drum Art)

This was a drum shell that I worked on for someone. (I had to take many pictures and splice them together to make a continuous wrap image that you see below.) It too me for evvvvvver to complete because it was all done in my spare time....and of course I charged wayyyy too little for the work. If I broke it down I would have made more an hour flipping burgers, but I did have fun making the piece.

Here is the part in the bible that I based the illustration off of.

"And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night."
Hope you enjoy!

Human Elder

Human Elders are warm, compassionate, nurturing and wise.

The Human Elders have gone through many evolutionary changes, most notable is their development of their brains. The Human Elders have developed a way to have a direct link between computational devices and their brains with out any physical connection to the hardware. (This was the key difference between the Human Elders and the Tech Lords.) This has given the Human Elders the ability access the computational powers of computers without being influenced by it’s (the computers) decision making processes.

The Human Elders have made a vow to bring back the human race and restore it to it’s former glory through a project dubbed Project Adam and Eve.

Tech Lord King

Here is a character that I created awhile back. He is a Tech Lord. Evil as they come. He was once fully man but in his lust for power, knowledge and his unwillingness to die has turned him into the monster that you see. His brain and the top half of his head is all that remains of flesh and bone, everything else has been replaced with metal, wires and circuitry. When he is fully machine his transformation will be complete and he will truly be an evil soul with the knowledge of good an evil but with the ability to live forever. He will be the reincarnation of Satan and will be known as the one called the antichrist.

Here is a close up shot of the Tech Lord King.

Hope you enjoy!

Some Sculptures Of Mine

Here are some sculptures that I have worked on in the past. The first, my favorite is a cool cat named Tylor. I just fined this sculpture up and put him in an art show that my company was was holding at an outside (Outside the company) venue. My sculpture was stolen at some point after the show and I never have seen it since. I worked on this piece on and off for over a year. It was my first complete sculpt up to that time and I miss him so. Let me know if you have seen him... sniff sniff (fake crying) I am bummed about loosing my sculpture but I did get a new computer out of the deal so I can't cry too hard.

This here is the second full sculpture that I created. He is called the Dragon Strider. This best is a giant that lives in the great canyon, he is ancient and his days are not known. This race has always existed from the beginning of recorded time. They are docile creatures that roam the canyons, they have been harnessed for transportation to the various canyon villages.

I made a base for this guy that is a huge cliff structure that he sits upon. I will have to get some new pictures up of this soon.

This beast here was my fist attempt at doing a full figure. Notice it is just a bust? Well the whole full figure thing didn't go so well. When I first started this sculpture I was on Christmas break at my wife's parents house. I had the super sculpey but no wire. So I built a skeleton with aluminum foil, mistake number 1. I also made the thickness of the sculpey way too thick, this made the sculpt very top heavy, mistake number 2. I then used Sculpey (White) as the base of the body, sculpey is not as strong as Super Sculpey, mistake number 3. I had this guy all rouged out as a full figure, he stood all on his own, then one morning I woke up and he was in pieces on the floor. Turns out that the foot cracked on the sculpture and this cause the whole thing to fall to the floor and well.... I could still make a bust out of it, so that is what I did. I then painted the bust with acrylic paint using my air brush and traditional paint brushes. Please learn from my mistakes and do not do what I did. :)
Peace,

NickZ.

In The Beginning

This is an image that I created using a photo of my hands (holding a candle) and a photo of the earth. The rest was done in Photoshop. I have had this image in my mind for a while now and I had to create it.

Hope you enjoy this,

Click Here For Amazon Link)and the 3Dsk (Click here for the 3D.sk site) site and built some anatomical reference sheets that I will be using in the class.

Thse sheets focus on the torso, arms and legs.

Tortosaurs

Tortosaurs are a genetic mix between Human, Brontosaur, and Tortoise.
Tortosaurs are not the fastest moving creatures on the planet, in fact some would say that the are downright slow, but where the Tortosaur lacks in speed he well compensates for it in power. A Tortosaur is believed to posses the strength of over 100 men.
Tortosaurs live in the great plains with the wild WerkOx, but they do not hunt these great beast but rather use them as beast of burden.
Tortosaurs and domesticated WerkOx over the years have developed a special bond. A young teenage Tortosaur is bound to a calf WerkOx from birth.
Tortosaurs average life span is around 100 - 150 years. It is said that the eldest of the Tortosaurs, Eldor, has been alive for over 200 hundred years.
Tortosaurs are great keepers of nature, they single handily over see the health and maintenance of over 1,000 plants and animals in the Great Plains and Oak Wood forest.
Tortosaurs have also been graced with being the protectors of the TIME power core.
Tortosaurs are some the most gentle, compassionate, humble and loyal creatures you’ll ever have the pleasure of meeting.
The young Tortosaur by the name “Trunk” will eventually cross paths with A.D.A.M There is an instant connection between A.D.A.M. and “Trunk.”
Trunk vows to follow A.D.A.M. to the bitter end on his quest to restore the human race.

Here is a rendering of Trunk.
Here is a drawing of a Werkox.

Here is a drawing of a Tortosaur time ring.

Here are some drawings of what young Tortosaurs look like.

Tortosaurs live a lot like the Indians did on the great plains.

Here is a version of Trunk that I sculpted in Maya and ZBrush. Some day I will finnish all the fine detail work on this character

Broken Wall (ZBrush Environment Time-Lapse)

My First Concept Art Work

Here are some concepts that I created working on my first game a little over 7 years ago. These were created for a small start up company, Greystone Technologies in San Diego. I had a lot of fun creating these characters. We were working on an arcade ride/game. The game was set in the future, you were racing a hover craft. When you played the game you sat on something that looked like a wave runner, you would then put your face into a type of 3D VR goggles. It was a very cool concept but unfortunately the game never got off the ground.
