Here is an animated Gif Test. This was a little tricky because Picasa and Blogspot don't support animated gifs. You will have to upload and publish your animated GIF from Google Docs. You will have to Upload your Gif in Googel Docs and then you will need to Publish your Doc to your blog.

Thanks this was helpful. The key for me was to publish under the privacy setting "Public on the web - Anyone on the Internet can find and view" and then right clicking on the image to copy the link.
Images that used authentication didn't load in Firefox or IE, so the other permission settings didn't work for me. Hope that helps anyone else with this quirky problem!
Oh, and Firefox plays the animation too fast as they ignore some of the timing information. Weird!
